Suspects seen on surveillance video before carjacking, killing father on Christmas Eve

The Detroit Police department is seeking help to identify two suspects they believe are responsible for carjacking and killing a father on Christmas Eve.

In the video, you can see two men in hoodie exit a vehicle before the carjacking that happened at approximately 9:30 p.m. Thursday at Gratiot and Fairmont on the city's east side. The police are also seeking tips from anyone who may recognize this vehicle.

Police say that these suspects fired shots, fatally wounding 33-year-old musician Anthony Tolson.

Police believe these men then drove off in the victim's gray Chevy Trailblazer, with the victim's bass and gifts for his children inside.

Tolson was on his way to his mom's house on the east side when he was shot and killed. In January, he was supposed to begin training to become a minister at Central Baptist Church.

The church dedicated a prayer to him at their service Sunday morning and a vigil will be held Sunday evening near the scene of the carjacking.

If you recognize these men or their vehicle, contact the Detroit Police at 313-596-2260.
