Wahlburgers Detroit holding job fair this week

There's a lot of buzz about a new celebrity restaurant opening in Detroit -- and they've put out the call for workers.

Mark and Donnie Wahlberg are looking for a few good Detroiters to work at their family burger place, Wahlburgers. The restaurant is opening in Greektown on July 23, and is the first of six locations that will be opening around southeast Michigan.

The restaurant is having an open house July 6 and 7 beginning at 10 a.m. They're looking to hire managers, experiences cooks, prep cooks, bartenders, servers, food runners, greeters, and assembly and utility workers. You're asked to bring your resume if you attend the fair.

The fair is at the restaurant, which is located at 569 Monroe Street in detroit.

Mark Wahlberg is in town filming the fifth Transformers movie, and he talked with FOX 2's Roop Raj about filming and his new restaurant. He says he owes the success of the chain to his brother's talents.

"There have been many celebrity restaurants in the past that have come and gone. You can throw a name on the marquee and have any kind of hype; it's about the customer experience and my brother is so talented. The food is extraordinary," he says. "When I came here, I knew I wanted to be here as much as possible. What more of an excuse than actually having my own blood, sweat and tears and investment right here in a town that's thriving?"

Mark says he really fell in love with the city when he stayed here a couple years ago during filming of the fourth Transformers movie.

"I was staying in Birmingham and I just got to see downtown as it was kind of rebuilding and all the surrounding towns, and people are just so nice and there's so much history here," he says. "Dream Cruise really took me by surprise; I'm a huge car lover, too. It's just, the food, the people, the work ethic of the town, the city, it's just fantastic."
