Bonnie Preston didn't want to be late for an appointment at harper Hospital in Detroit, so she parked and used this ATM in the lobby.

"Usually I just take the receipt and put it in my purse, but for some reason i looked at it," she said.

She expected a fee, somewhere around $2 to $5,  instead she got a terminal fee of $99.

"Ninety-nine dollars is a lot of money."

There are two stickers on the ATM indicating the owner charges a fee but both lines are blank, however.  There is also a number to call, so she did.

"The response I got from her was she wanted me to forget it and take the loss," Preston said.

She then called her bank and disputed the charge. She was told they will take care of it for her, but she is sharing her story because she's worried.

"I'm sure some people come in and use the ATM machine and some people don't look at their receipts," she said. "They might just fold it up and look at it later."

She said her experience has given her good cause for concern.

"I made kind of a big deal about it and I talked with the security guard right there and then at the front desk," she said. "And they said other people have complained."

FOX 2 contacted Harper Hospital who said the ATMs are not affiliated with the hospital. Then we got a phone call from someone who is affiliated with the ATM.

FOX 2 spoke with the managing partner of the company which owns the ATM at Harper Hospital. They said it was glitch in the network that affected at least four people charging them $99 instead of $2.50.

They said the people who had this charge should be reimbursed in 5 to 7 business days and say the problem has been fixed.
