A woman loses her twin babies and her mother in a house fire, now finds herself battling to make it day by day.

Devastation doesn't even begin to describe what Precious Ford has been through.

"I don't see the light in all of this," she said. "I've been struggling since June 27."

A midnight phone call that night turned her world upside down.

"They said my kids and mother were trapped in the house," she said, adding that when she got home, "the fire was out but my kids never came out."

Ford's mother and her twin babies didn’t make it and her 4-year-old survived, but was injured badly.

"He was screaming in so much pain. and by me losing my mom and the twins, I couldn't bear it," she said.

The fire on Lahser did so much damage. taking three lives and making the house uninhabitable. But to Ford, it goes beyond that to the mental pain that she is still coming to terms with.

"I honestly need therapy and I honestly someone to talk to," she said. "I just need help in that area."

In the time since the fire, she lost her factory job saying she had no way to get to and from work. Without a job, she can't pay rent. - and without a home, her two remaining children are being cared for by other family members.

"It has been four months and I'm still in the same spot," she said.

The stress is taking a toll on her health. She has been in and out of the hospital for depression and anxiety after she was placed in a home in Ferndale.

And now hopeless and desperate, she's looking for compassion.

"I honestly just want some kind of help," she said. "To just get us under one roof."

Her hope is one step in the right direction will lead to another and eventually lead to getting her family back under one roof - which would mean a lot.

"The world, feeding them, playing with them," she said. "It would mean the world."
