Severe thunderstorm watches canceled for southeastern Michigan

Severe thunderstorm watches were canceled for Wayne County and other metro Detroit counties according to the National Weather Service.

The watches were set to expire at about 10 p.m. The NWS issued their cancellation at 8:30 p.m. 

At 7:15 very heavy rains and gusty winds are crossing parts of Oakland, Wayne and Macomb counties. Stay indoors as these storms pass.

There is a report of a tree down on Grosse Ile among local storm damage.

The strongest storms appear between Romeo and Capac, heading northeast, according to Rich Luterman.

There have been some isolated reports of power lines down in Monroe County and Grosse Ile.
