Lions Place Abdullah on Reserve/Injured List

The Detroit Lions announced Wednesday they have placed second year running back Ameer Abdullah on the reserve/injured list.  Abdullah, 18 carries, 101 yards this season, could return in eight weeks.

Theo Riddick, Dwayne Washington & Zach Zenner are likely to be the running backs going forward.  Running back George Winn was also signed to the Lions' practice squad Wednesday.  Former Patriots' wide receiver Aaron Dobson will take Abdullah's spot on the roster. The Lions also announced linebacker Zavier Gooden has been signed to the practice squad.  They released guard Chase Farris & wide receiver Isaac Fruechte from the practice squad.
