Motorcyclist injured after losing control on I-96 local in Detroit

The local lanes of westbound I-96 are now open at Greenfield after a crash that injured a motorcyclist Tuesday morning.

According to Michigan State Police, witnesses said a 59-year-old Detroit man crossed the line, went onto the shoulder, and lost control. The driver, who was wearing a helmet, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

"Metro South troopers are continuing to investigate this crash," said MSP F/Lt. Mike Shaw. "At this time it hasn’t been determined why the rider drifted onto the shoulder and lost control."
