Crash on Greenfield near 9 Mile kills Detroit woman

Southfield police say at 7 p.m. on Feb. 12, a woman from Detroit was hit by a car on Greenfield and Foster Winter Drive. She was taken to providence where she later died. 

SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (FOX 2) - Police are investigating after a deadly crash that occurred in Southfield Thursday evening. 

What they're saying:

Southfield police say at 7 p.m. on Feb. 12, a woman from Detroit was hit by a car on Greenfield and Foster Winter Drive. She was taken to providence where she later died. 

Police say the driver is cooperating with officials. Meanwhile, it is too soon to tell if drugs or alcohol were involved. 

It is unclear as of 10 p.m. Thursday why the woman was in the road.

An investigation is ongoing.
