Former high school teacher in Troy facing sex assault charges

A former teacher at a high school in Troy is facing sex assault charges.

Aaron Donaghy, 47, is facing three counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. Authorities say the charges stem from incidents that occurred in Troy from approximately 1999 to 2000 when Donaghy was a teacher at Avondale High School.

At the time of the alleged incident, the victim was a 15 year old female student at Avondale High School. Donaghy was 27 years old and a teacher at the school.

The incidents occurred at Donaghy's former residence, an apartment in the area of Coolidge and Maple in Troy.

Donaghy received a $75,000 personal bond and is restricted from contact with the victim and any children under 18 years old.

He is currently not employed at Avondale High School.
