DETROIT (FOX 2) - An iconic restaurant in downtown Detroit won't be returning in 2019.
Hard Rock Cafe Detroit will close on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019. A statement from Hard Rock International says the lease is expiring for the restaurant that month and so the location will be closing.
Hard Rock Cafe Detroit has been around since 2003 on Monroe Street across from Campus Martius Park. The restaurant featured rock and roll memorabilia from several Detroit artists.
"The brand remains committed to the city and is open to having another location within the market, if the right space can be identified," the statement said.
Officials didn't give a reason for why the lease wasn't being renewed.
