Port Huron police investigating after fatal shooting, vehicle fire on same street
PORT HURON, Mich. (FOX 2) - Port Huron police are working to figure out if a fatal shooting and vehicle fire on the same street Tuesday morning are linked.
According to police, officers were called to the 3000 block of Vanness Street just before 12:15 a.m. for a vehicle on fire. Based on the initial investigation, police believe the fire may have been arson.
About 15 minutes after receiving the fire report, they were called to a shooting at a home in the 2500 block of Vanness. When officers arrived, they found the body of a 35-year-old man who had been shot numerous times.
The Port Huron Major Crimes Unit and Detective Bureau are investigating both the fire and shooting.
