Halloween on Electric Street brings in crowds in Wyandotte
What started four years ago as a labor of love for their autistic son, has expanded into a full on neighborhood bash each year. Neighbors at 1280 and 1288 Electric Street in Wyandotte have an ever growing display of animatronics and other Halloween horrors that is all free for the neighborhood to enjoy. The display started to help show off the love of horror for one of their children, and expanded every year until it got too big for a single yard to contain, so the neighbors pitched in. The display is open nightly through Halloween, and will be gone on Nov. 1, until next year.

Single-engine airplane crashes in Flint
A single-engine aircraft crashed along the highway this afternoon when that engine failed. According to Flint Township Police, the aircraft had only the pilot onboard, and they were not injured in the crash. The small craft was descending towards Bishop Airport when a mechanical failure caused the engine to stop. The pilot landed the plane along the shoulder of I-69, near I-75. No other vehicles were damaged. Flint Township police investigators are working with the FAA and authorities at Bishop Airport to investigate the cause of the engine failure.

Two people were shot, and a third is on the run after an incident near the intersection of Pardee and Wick Roads just after 4 a.m. this morning. Police have identified Joeseph Garcia, 19, as a suspect in the double shooting. Police were called to the area at 4:12 a.m. where they found two people suffering from apparent gun shots. Both victims were taken to an area hospital in stable condition. Garcia, of Taylor, is described as armed with a handgun. He stands about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighs about 135 pounds. Anyone with information regarding Garcia’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Taylor Police Department at 734-287-6611.
