A church known for its activism and pursuit of justice shared its pulpit with an advocate for workers' rights UAW Leader Shawn Fain was the guest speaker at Central United Methodist Church. Fain says greedy corporations, CEOs that see working people as tools, tools to be used up and thrown away. Politicians, unfortunately under Democrats and Republicans alike have sold people out to billionaires according to Fain. Fain believe the time to fight is now and that society cannot afford quietism that soothes people into silence. United Methodist Church has been at the forefront of the equality movement; providing housing for immigrant families, both seeking asylum and fighting deportation cases. Fain believes the pulpit is a great place to fight for justice and the time is now.
