Allen Road grade separation construction starts Monday
Allen Road will close north of Van Horn and south of West Road in Woodhaven as the grade separation for the train tracks is built starting March 23. For decades, trains entering the Canadian National Flat Rock Yard have created frequent, lengthy blockages at the Allen Road crossing that disrupt Woodhaven traffic — sometimes lasting 45 minutes or more, with one 2014 instance exceeding six hours. This project will create a smooth, uninterrupted flow of traffic and eliminate dangerous, unpredictable backups.
