Macomb County drive-by shooting: Police seek suspects after arrests

Police are searching for the suspects behind a drive-by shooting in Macomb County that happened on Sunday.

What we know:

Macomb County Sheriff's Office officials say suspects in a white Cadillac SUV fired shots at a man standing next to a vehicle on Sheri Drive, at Westbridge Manor, on Sunday around 5:30 p.m.

Some fled from the SUV but then returned. Cmdr. Jason Abro of Macomb County says a 20-year-old woman from Detroit and a 26-year-old man from Eastpointe were taken into custody.

Two people were arrested at the scene, but police believe three more were involved.

"It’s very clear from our investigation early on, we believe that somebody was a target of this drive-by shooting," said Abro. "The officers came upon two suspects in a vehicle. They ultimately were stopped and detained as the investigation then began."

Later, an 18-year-old man from Macomb Township was taken in as well.

As for the victim, Abro says he was not shot.

A K9 handler from Chesterfield Township was on the scene and helped them find the weapons.

"We found an AK47. We found an AR-15. We also located a handgun with an extended magazine," Abro said. "These individuals definitely meant business at the residence."

Four homes and a vehicle were struck.

An investigation is ongoing.
