Michigan House Republicans are working to repeal laws that allow a judge to temporarily remove guns from a person who is deemed to be a danger to themselves or others. Supporters of overturning the laws say that they may infringe on a person's right to due process. 

Federal Judge Robert Jonker sided with Enbridge, the Canadian oil giant, ruling that the state of Michigan doesn’t have the power to shut down the oil pipeline underwater in the Straits of Mackinac. The ruling overrides Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s 2020 order that Enbridge can’t use the 4-mile underwater stretch, which would effectively make the 645-mile pipeline inoperable.

Trump teased the address in a statement on social media, saying the speech will take place at 9 p.m. ET on Wednesday. He did not clarify a topic for the address, but the White House has offered more details about what the president intends to talk about. 

No testimony was taken Wednesday in the murder case of John Skelton, accused of murdering his three children. But that was 15 years ago when the children went missing. Skelton spent the last 15 years in prison for abandoning his children, but just before he was to be released, the prosecutor filed murder charges against him.

Members of the Michigan House of Representatives have introduced bills to repeal Extreme Risk Protection Orders from state law. 

Joseph Green received a 3 ½ to 20-year prison sentence after pleading no contest to charges stemming from the incident that badly burned Adrian Trimble, and left him hospitalized for around a month.
