Suspect arrested after Saturday night homicide in Pontiac
Little more than two hours after the body of a Pontiac man was discovered fatally shot inside his pickup truck Saturday night, Oakland County Sheriff’s Office detectives had arrested the suspected shooter. The suspect, a 26-year-old Pontiac man, is being held in the Oakland County Jail. Detectives are expected to turn the case over to prosecutors for charges as soon as Tuesday. “With swift, coordinated work and the full strength of our combined resources, our team was able to identify the suspect in this senseless homicide, locate him, and take him into custody,” Sheriff Michael Bouchard said. “I look forward to seeing him held fully accountable.” The suspect is accused in the death of Antonio Jason Craig, 52, of Pontiac. Deputies on patrol discovered a pickup truck equipped with a salt spreader stopped in the middle of Karen Court, just south of Hopkins Avenue shortly before 7:30 p.m. Saturday. Deputies found Craig unresponsive inside the truck and immediately attempted life saving measures during which time they discovered Craig had multiple gunshot wounds.
