One dead, one hospitalized in custody after shooting in Pontiac

A 39-year-old man was fatally shot and a second man was wounded and taken into custody following a domestic-related confrontation Saturday evening in Pontiac. Oakland County Sheriff’s Office deputies were dispatched at approximately 7:15 p.m. to the 50 block of Monroe Street for a reported domestic disturbance. Gunshots were heard in the background during a call to the Sheriff’s Operations Center. When deputies arrived, they found a 39-year-old Mount Clemens Township man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. A 31-year-old St. Clair Shores man was also found suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to a hospital for treatment, where he remains under guard.
