3-car pile up leaves at least one dead in Detroit

Preliminary investigation indicates that all three vehicles were traveling westbound when a silver Chevrolet Impala rear-ended another vehicle, causing the driver to lose control and subsequently strike a third vehicle. There were six occupants in the Impala at the time of the crash. During the crash, a juvenile occupant was ejected from the vehicle. The juvenile was transported by Highland Park Police officers to a local hospital, where they were pronounced deceased. The five remaining occupants of the Impala sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical. All six occupants were transported to local hospitals for medical treatment.
