For Primary Election Day, the Department of Justice sent election monitors to four cities in Michigan: Lansing, East Lansing, Hamtramck and Detroit. These federal election monitors are on site to help ensure compliance with federal law. But one civil rights organization wants to make sure these monitors don’t get in the way of the election process.
