2018 Global 6K for Water on May 19
(WJBK) - It's the water can challenge.
World Vision is challenging people to lift a jerry can full of water, around 40 lbs, and try walking with it to demonstrate what people experience when they don't have clean water nearby. In developing countries, the jerry can is the typical weight women and children will carry a distance of 6 kilometers daily to fetch water.
That's why World Vision is hosting the 2018 Global 6K for Water on Saturday, May 19 at Kensington Metro Park. Last year more than 800 people walked or ran at Kensington Park raising nearly $50,000.
Joining FOX 2 with more information is Jacob Vargo from World Vision.
