21-year-old learns to walk again after sports injury paralyzation

A hockey injury and subsequent medical procedure left Zack Kolioupoulos paralyzed from the chest down. He was determined, though, to walk again -- and remarkably has accomplished that goal.

He is still in therapy, making strides every day. Insurance coverage has expired, though, and the out-of-pocket cost is thousands of dollars a month.

A golf outing later this month will raise money towards Zack's therapy. It's at Oak Ridge Golf Course on Saturday, September 30. The cost is $100 per golfer.

Zack and his mother, Rose Miceli, joined us in studio to tell us more about his progress and the golf outing. You can hear from them in the video player above.
