Auditions for 'Hairspray' at The Berman

The Berman in West Bloomfield is launching a new community theater program and will be bringing 'Hairspray' to the theatre in mid February. The theater is now calling for actors, designers and technical crew workers to audition for the production. 

The Berman is also offering a free workshop for those who have never auditioned before. You can find information on the workshop and the auditions below.

AUDITION WORKSHOP
Sunday, October 30 (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.) at The Berman
This workshop is free to the public and designed to familiarize anyone interested with the audition process. Director Elaine (Hendriks) Smith will lead this exciting workshop, showing attendees what it takes to get cast in a show. Learn how to tap into that certain magic that seems to light up the stage. AUDITIONS
Tuesday, November 1: 6-9 p.m. (at The Berman)
Thursday, November 3: 6-9 p.m. (at the JCC Teen Center)
Sunday, November 6: 11 a.m.-3 p.m. (at the JCC Teen Center)
Please prepare a one-minute monologue from contemporary theatre and 16 bars of a song - be prepared to sing acapella, or bring sheet music. No pre-recorded music. Please bring  potential scheduling conflicts to the audition. To sign up for a 10-minute time-slot, please call 248.661.1900.

REHEARSALS
Rehearsals will take place on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday beginning the week of November 13, but not all cast members will be called to every rehearsal.

PERFORMANCES
Tickets will go on sale the week of November 13, 2016, for the following performances:
Wednesday, February 15 at 7:30 p.m.
Thursday, February 16 at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday, February 18 at 8 p.m.
Sunday, February 19 at 2 p.m.
Sunday, February 19 at 6 p.m.
