(FOX 2) - Cinco de Mayo is this weekend, but many businesses in southwest Detroit are starting the celebration early.
Alfonso Avila from El Rancho restaurant and Bertha Jimenez from Chilango's Bakery joined us on The Nine to tell us more about Cinco de Mayo week. You can get their Chilangos Flan recipe below.
Eggs 1 cup
condensed milk 1cup
evaporated milk 1 cup
Instructions; caramelized the sugar and put it on a oven safe mold, mix in a blender the eggs and the both milks r, add a teaspoon of vanilla extract and pour into the mold with the caramelize sugar.
Put it in the oven in a water bath for 25 min. At 360 degree. Take it out let it cool down and you have a delicious flan.
