(WJBK) - The Detroit Latin Festival is a family-friendly, free celebration of family, community, and Latin American culture!
The festival will take place on Sunday, July 16.There will be performances representing various countries in Latin America from 1 p.m. - 7 p.m.
There will also be a children's area from 12 p.m. - 6 p.m., free of charge. Activities will include a bounce house and kids' crafts.
Food vendors for the festival will offer a wide variety of cuisine from latin america. The festival Latino marketplace will include jewelry, arts, crafts, and a variety of other items.
The festival's mission is to provide the community with an opportunity to experience traditional and contemporary Latin America through the presentation of arts and culture. Festival organizer Stephanie Lopez Gilmore joined us this morning to talk about the event, along with Esteban Castro from Esto's Garage prepared ancho shrimp and black bean Quesadilla for a taste of what to expect at the festival.
