(WJBK) - While the Detroit Lions players are working hard on the field to make it to the playoffs, some of their wives are working hard to help families in need have a happy Thanksgiving.
This week, nearly 100 families at the Coalition on Temporary Shelter will receive overflowing baskets filled with a turkey, side dishes and more to help them have a happy Thanksgiving. Several Detroit Lions' wives started the tradition at COTS in 2005, and now, over a decade later, the tradition is still going strong.
This year, 11 COTS clients will also be participating in HandUp Detroit campaigns, which crowd-fund initiatives that help them continue to rise out of poverty.
