National Reading Month: 'Donovan's College Adventure'

March is National Reading Month, and to kick it off, one local author and local business are teaming up to celebrate.

Jahquan Hawkins, dean of student services at Oakland Community College's Auburn Hills Campus, just released his second book, a children's book called "Donovan's College Adventure." It's a tale inspired by his 6-year-old, Donovan, and geared to introduce children his age to the world of higher education. 

He and Donovan stopped by the Fox2 News studio Saturday morning with Danielle North of Kidz Kingdom in Detroit. She's hosting an event from noon to 2 p.m. today at the indoor play and party center, located at 18602 Fenkell St., to showcase the book and emphasize the importance of reading.
