New golf mobile app launched

Golfler, a Detroit-based golf tech startup, has launched its free mobile app, designed to be the first all-inclusive, on-course concierge service for players and golf courses.

The app offers players on-demand access to course food/beverage items and equipment for cart delivery during rounds at partnered courses. Golfler also houses a state-of-the-art 3D rangefinder, live weather updates, digital scorecards and real-time direct messaging; all previously unavailable in one application. In addition, the software aims to speed course pace of play and increase overall revenue for facilities.

Expanding across Michigan and the U.S., the app launched at the Warren Valley Golf Course on Saturday, September 26 at the course's annual tournament. All proceeds generated through the app are being donated to local non-profit Swing4Dreams, an organization that provides a golf and education program for elementary, middle and high school youths in the Greater Detroit area.

The Golfler team exhibited at the 2015 PGA Fashion and Demo Experience in Las Vegas on August 17 - 20 and was awarded the 2015 Top Buyers' Choice Award out of all of the new products presented at this year's show. In addition, the app also took second place overall in the sports and fitness category in the 2015 Summer of Apps competition, held by App Circus and sponsored by Google at the end of August.
