'Newtown' showings across the country Nov. 2
(WJBK) - The killings at Sandy Hook Elementary School is one of the most tragic events of modern time. Twenty children and 6 school staff members were gunned down at the school in Newton, Conn. back in 2012.
Now, we are learning much more about those who lost their lives in the documentary "Newtown."
It's not just another film about gun violence and tragedy. Filmed over the course of nearly three years, the film uses unique access and never-before heard testimonies from families, first-responders, educators and clergy to explore the concept of resilience and depict how far the Newtown community has come in its recovery and how far it has to go.
It documents a traumatized community fractured by grief and driven toward a sense of purpose.
The film will show in various theaters across the United States on Wednesday, November 2.
