Wintery mix of snow and sleet makes for messy commute

A wintry mix moved in from south to north beginning around noon and expanded across all of SE Michigan early this afternoon.

Officially the Winter Weather Advisory for Wayne, Washenaw, Lenawee and Monroe, Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Lapeer and St. Clair counties.

The heaviest mix of snow and sleet is exepcted to start at 4 p.m.  A glaze of ice is expected to coat Wayne and Monroe Counties, while Lenawee and Washtenaw counties may get closer to .10" of ice.

Oakland, Macomb, Livingston, Lapeer and St. Clair counties should be closer to .10" to .20" of ice, with the highest amounts north of m-59.

The wind will be whipping as well, so power outages are possible where power lines become coated with ice.
