As World Cup 2018 approaches on FOX 2, excitement is building - especially for the men on Detroit City FC.

Neal Ruhl calls the action for Detroit City FC and says  the team is incredibly popular.

"Probably the most popular amateur Soccer team in the entire country," he said. "These guys are passionate. This fan base, the Northern Guard supporters section is the best in American soccer. That's a fact not an opinion."

Detroit City FC is made up from players from around the world and the whole team is amped for the World Cup.

"A lot of guys from England, one from Jamaica, a lot of guys from Canada," Ruhl said."Especially English people. They've been waiting their turn they were good back in the day and a lot's expected of them so they ride pretty happy with their English crew - no doubt about it."

Detroit City FC plays in Hamtramck in July - so you can see them play after the World Cup which starts Thursday on FOX.
