Detroit police are investigating threats made to the 8th Precinct Friday night.

A man called 911 and threatened to shoot up the police station, at 21555 W. McNichols on the city's west side. The call caused a lockdown at the 8th Precinct as well as the 6th Precinct on Warwick, which once was combined with it in the same building.

As a result of the threats, all precincts have heightened security while an investigation into who made the threats are ongoing.

In January, 2011 the Sixth Precinct was attacked by a gunman that walked in and fired on officers, wounding four of them.
