In the past, the zoo has responded to complaints by changing the direction of speakers and moving stages.

Director of The Detroit Zoo, Ron Kagan, says that the zoo has strict policies to keep noise down, but since they host many special events, such as weddings, corporate events, and Wild Summer Nights, noise is inevitable.

"We constantly monitor noise levels with sound check," Kagan says.

A town meeting is scheduled next month after 26 homeowners signed petitions complaining of excessive noise.

"We'll make sure we continue to be good neighbors," he says.
