A former murder suspect is now a free man.
DeAngelo Davis was released from prison just before 7 p.m. Wednesday. Davis had been arrested in the murder of Wayne State police officer Collin Rose on Nov. 22.
"I'm still innocent," he said as he walked out of the Wayne County Jail.
Earlier today a press conference was held announcing all charges had been dropped.
Davis has had run-ins with the law, but his family now believes police owe them and him - an apology.
"He's owed a public apology the way they publicly humiliated him, me also, and my family," said his mother Valerie Davis. "They public did that, and he deserves better as a human being."
