One man is dead and a woman is injured after a shooting on Detroit’s eastside.

Police are now searching for the gunman who opened fire on two people as they handed out voter’s guides encouraging people to vote.

The incident happened in the 6000 block of Drexel around 6:30 Tuesday evening. The man and woman are from a grassroots political group, they were going door to door handing out flyers for the coming midterm election.

Police say at some point the deceased man and the gunman had some sort of dispute leading up to the shooting which has left neighbors unnerved.
