Authorities are responding after the top level of a parking garage partially collapsed in downtown Detroit Thursday morning.

It happened in the 1400 block of Woodbridge Street, which is near Jefferson Avenue and the Detroit River Walk. A fire official says no injuries have been reported.

SkyFOX was over the scene and 8 cars were parked in the area that collapsed. The cars don't appear to have significant physical damage, but it's not known yet if they'll be drivable. One was tipped onto its side.

Deputy Fire Commissioner Dave Fornell says officials are bringing in equipment to remove the cars and to support the section that partially collapsed.

"It's concrete and, like anything else, materials can deteriorate over time," he said.

Police say a 911 caller said it was like "the floor fell in."
