CHP chasing stolen minivan suspect in LA

LOS ANGELES - A female driver in an allegedly stolen silver Toyota minivan was able to escape into Mexico after leading officers on a multi-county, hours-long pursuit across Southern California on Monday.
Timeline:
10:35 a.m.: The silver Toyota Sienna minivan was reported stolen from the 1900 block of Hillcrest Drive in Thousand Oaks, Ventura County.
10:55 a.m.: About 20 minutes after the report, sheriff's deputies in Moorpark spotted the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop. The driver failed to stop, initiating the pursuit.
Mid-Chase: The pursuit traveled eastbound on the 118 Freeway and southbound on the 405 Freeway. Once the vehicle crossed the 101 Freeway in Encino, the Ventura County Sheriff's Office turned the chase over to the California Highway Patrol. The driver was able to avoid several attempts by officers to stop or slow the vehicle with spike strips.
Final Stretch: The chase continued southbound on the 405, through Orange County, onto the 5 Freeway in San Diego County.
1:30 p.m.: The driver reached the US-Mexico border and appeared to successfully drive into Mexico, ending the pursuit.

Ventura County sheriff's deputies said Tuesday they are en route to pick up the suspect in Mexico. Details on how the suspect was detained were not immediately released.
