A man has been arrested in connection with a kidnapping and a rape on Detroit's west side.

Investigators allege 28-year-old Tyree Davis-Mills approached an 18-year-old woman at the bus stop near Schoolcraft and Greenfield on Saturday. The two talked briefly and the woman began to walk away, but then police say she was pulled into an alley and assaulted.

The bus stop was in front of a Project Green Light location, and video from that store helped identify the suspect. Police say they received multiple tips after the video was shared and Davis-Mills was taken into custody the next day.

He's been charged with kidnapping and multiple criminal sexual conduct charges. He's being held without bond.

Detroit Police Department's Project Green Light started as a partnership with eight gas stations, but has grown to something much more complex. Camera systems at these businesses are high definition and can be streamed directly to DPD.
