Motorists in southeast Michigan will be getting some much-needed relief - ahead of schedule.
All of I-275 will reopen for the Wednesday morning commute. Sections are reopening Tuesday night as last-minute work is being completed on some ramps.
The Northbound I-275 direction is expected to reopen Tuesday night from I-96 and M-14 to I-96 and I-696 begins to reopen Tuesday night at Eight Mile Road, according to Diane Cross of MDOT.
The M-5 east/west ramps will not reopen until mid-September.
