DETROIT (WJBK) - A suspected accomplice in a Detroit auto parts store robbery that turned fatal has been arrested after turning herself in Tuesday.
Police say 28-year-old Eboni Mcewen-Ross turned herself at the Detroit Police Department this morning. She and 23-year-old Shawnta Anderson are accused of shooting and killing a 69-year-old store manager James Haller Jr. while robbing O'Reilly Auto Parts store on Schaefer near 6 Mile Road on Nov. 1.
"We got a call from her attorney indicating that she wanted to turn herself in," Police Chief James Craig said. "That cooperation is welcomed."
Officials say two women were caught on surveillance video walking inside the auto part store and announcing a robbery. When Haller came from the back of the store after hearing the commotion, police say Anderson shot him in the head with a handgun.

After fleeing the scene, Anderson was caught in the 6000 block of Colfax. She was charged with felony murder and two counts of armed robbery, all of which could get her life in prison, if convicted.
Also arrested was 39-year-old Leviticus Butler for traffic violations, but police say they are seeking charges for accessory after the fact for harboring suspects, a felony with a maximum penalty of five years.
Mcewen-Ross's charges have not yet been announced. Detroit police say they are are also still looking for the getaway driver.
Family says Haller was General Motors retiree, and a Marine who served two tours in Vietnam.
"That suspect is still outstanding so we're optimisitc that he'll be in custody soon," Craig said. "The only thing I can say is we know who you are. Do yourself a favor and yourself in."
