Two young women died in an early-morning single rollover car crash on Berg Road near Civic Center Drive in Southfield.

Investigators say the driver, a 20-year old man from Southfield, ran off after the crash. Police caught up to him and say he had been drinking. They arrested him and he was taken to a nearby hospital for a blood alcohol test.

A family member says Marcia Gingles was one of the women killed. A graduate of Southfield High School, Gingles turned 21 on July 1.

Another woman in her 20s was also killed in the crash. She has been identified as 20-year-old Tyana Bryant, also of Southfield.

Audrey Cameron describes what she saw and heard.

"Boom, the car flipped and it stopped," she said. "By then, I was in the house calling 911."

No other cars were involved but if anyone was in the area at the time of the crash around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning, you're asked to call Southfield police at 248-796-5500.

"God be with him and the ladies that were with him," said neighbor Brittney Robinson.

Authorities are working to determine how fast the driver was going.
