Genesee County Prosecutor David Leyton has announced his office will not authorize criminal charges against the Waterford Police Chief for removing a campaign sign.

Chief Daniel McCaw was observed on July 18, for removing a campaign sign that read "Vote No on the Millage it's a tax increase!"

The incident was recorded on dash cam. After a review of the evidence Leyton determined probable cause does not exist that McCaw committed a crime.
