Woman arrested for stabbing at Chestfield Twp. motel

Police in Chesterfield Township have arrested a woman accused of stabbing another Thursday morning.

According to police, 27-year-old Angel Mahone stabbed the 42-year-old woman as they were walking from the Chesterfield Motor Inn on Gratiot just after 4 a.m..

The victim allegedly told police her and Mahone were heading to a bus stop on Gratiot when Mahone began accusing her of cheating with another woman. An argument ensued and soon became violent, with Mahone allegedly punching the victim several times before pulling out a knife and stabbing her. The victim was able to escape and run back to the motel where witnesses called police.

Mahone ran from the scene but was arrested a short time later with the help of Clinton Township Police. She faces numerous charges, including assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. She is being held on $100,000 cash bond.

The victim was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated for a punctured lung. She is currently listed in serious condition.
