Charles Matthews heads back to Michigan

Michigan guard Charles Matthews announced Wednesday he is returning to school for his senior season after pulling his name from the 2018 NBA Draft.

Matthews, 21, was one of the leaders of the 2017 Michigan Final Four team and National Championship runner-ups.

The Chicago native averaged had a career-high 13 points per game, .495 field goal percentage and shot .318 from three while averaging 5.5 rebounds.

The Kentucky transfer has played one season for the Wolverines after transferring after his freshman year and having to sit out his sophomore year.  He still has two years of eligibility remaining.
