39th Annual Detroit Jazz Festival this weekend

(WJBK) - The world's largest free jazz festival kicks off on Friday.

There are a lot of hometown artists on stage, along with names known around the world at Campus Martius and Hart Plaza.

Joining FOX 2 with all of the details and a music sampling is the Gene Dunlap Band and Detroit Jazz Festival Director Chris Collins.

The event runs Aug. 31 - Sept. 3.
