Alternative for Girls gets $30,000 grant

Nearly two dozen metro Detroit nonprofits are getting a big boost to help people in need thanks to the Bank of America Charitable Foundation.

Bank of America Charitable Foundation awards nearly $725,000 in grants to nonprofits tackling poverty in the area. Alternatives for Girls is one of the non-profits receiving grants this week.  They are receiving $30,000.

Their mission is to help homeless and high-risk girls and young women avoid violence, teen pregnancy and exploitation, and help them to explore and access the support, resources and opportunities necessary to be safe, to grow strong and to make positive choices in their lives.
