Cinetopia International Film Festival June 3-12

A big festival celebrating the cinematic arts is getting ready to kick off in metro Detroit. Cinetopia is back this year from June 3-12 to bring more than 50 films to the Detroit, Dearborn and Ann Arbor areas.

The festival will feature more than 120 screenings of 50+ films,  representing the best feature-length dramas, comedies, and documentaries from the world's best festivals, including Sundance, Cannes, Venice, Toronto, Berlin, SXSW and Tribeca.

You can get a full schedule of films and purchase tickets at www.Cinetopiafestival.org. Tickets to individual films are $12 for the general public and $9 for DIA, DFT, Wright Museum, Arab American Museum, Henry Ford Museum and Michigan Theater members.

Thursday on The Nine, writer/director Michael Curtis Johnson and actor Tomas Pias joined us to tell us more about their film, "Hunky Dory", which will be featured at this year's festival. You can learn more about the festival and their film by watching the video in the player above.
