DIA's Day of Dance Explores American Dance History

The Detroit Institute of Arts will showcase more than 130 years of American dance history during the special exhibition "Dance! American Art 1830-1960."

Part of the celebration includes the "'Day of Dance" on April 17. In conjunction with Detroit's ARTLAB, participants will explore the methods for creating different dance styles and the related choreography.

Michael Hill, the DIA's program coordinator, stopped by the Fox2 Studios Sunday morning with a pair of trained, professional dancers to preview the event.
