Fox2 Newsmaker Gary Brown Discusses Detroit Water Shutoffs

Water shutoffs in Detroit created controversy and spurred a strong public response from community activists last year.

To avoid a repeat of the situation, the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department began an informational campaign earlier this year to emphasize the importance of due dates and getting on a payment plan for residents who are behind on their bills.

Gary Brown, director of the Detroit Water and Sewerage Department, visited the Fox2 Studios Saturday morning to discuss the programs offered to help people keep their water running as they try and get current o their accounts.
