Human trafficking informative session May 9 in Oakland County

Human trafficking is rapidly expanding around the world -- and that includes metro Detroit. Amy Allen is a victim specialist from ICE Homeland Security Investigations, and she's part of a training session on how to spot human traffickers among us in hopes of getting more tips to investigators to shut it down.

She says big red flags are somebody who is not in possession of their own identity documents, and girls brought into the emergency room with signs of abuse or with STIs.

The training session is on Monday, May 9 from 5-7 p.m. at the Oakland County Conference Center in Waterford. The event is free to the public. Click here to register or for more information
